Meet The Owner

Welcome! Allow me to introduce myself: My name is Amy and I’m the founder of Sips And Sequels. I was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina. I eventually found my way out of Durham, landed in Raleigh for a while, and in my search for where to call home I somehow wound my way a little further south to Sanford. Today I work as an HR Data analyst by day and a Bookstore and bottle shop owner by night – or maybe by afternoon/evening?

My friends and I are avid readers, craft beer drinkers, and Sanford community lovers. I have found that Sanford is the kind of place that takes hold quickly and won’t let go. It’s the extended family you never quite knew you needed until it was there. It was the community that saw me reading alone in breweries and bars and still immediately threw me under its wing when I wasn’t quite ready to talk to everyone yet. Now it’s the community that won’t let me read in breweries and bars! That’s ok though, because now I’m bringing to Sanford my love of these places and these stories so that we can share the journey together around a good drink.

A little over a year ago now I sat down with a couple of those friends and said, holy shit (can I say that here?) what if we did this thing for real?! Thus, Sips And Sequels was born!
